It was 17 years ago when we met, working at a big brand retail store on Michigan Ave in the windy city. I had previously lived in Breckenridge and always knew someday I would return. Over the years the mountains kept calling. We always had dreams of opening our own place someday and ready to make a lifestyle change.
After four years of hard work and solidifying our place in the community a space became available. It was a souvenir gift shop we ran for three months before the remodel. After a month of hard work and learning a lot of new skills, Outsider was born. As we hand-picked all the brands, we stayed true to our ethos and sustainable nature, making this eco-minded store a reality.

Outsider’s Journey
During the remodel, we used existing materials, recycled/dumpster-digging treasures and salvaged carpet. We both have creative backgrounds and put our personal touch and style to every facet of the shop.
A special thanks goes out to our family and friends who’ve help us along this journey. In the end, we’re proud of what we’ve created and the message of our brands we bring to our customers and community.
